The primary question which is asked is, how can the adolescent sex offender's moral orientation be turned around. How can he be encouraged to be caring and cooperative with others? A general discussion of how individuals adopt and internalize social norms is provided, emphasizing the parts played by peer interaction, role taking, and collective behavior. Finally, a treatment program is described, one which emphasizes the functions of labeling, group therapy, and structured living environment. (Author abstract)
