Currency counterfeiting is a serious international crime. The problem of currency counterfeiting is not restricted to the countries of Europe, America, or Asia. Evidence abounds that continental Africa is beginning to be affected by the same problems.
Abstract
Unfortunately, the scientific literature on the subject of currency counterfeiting in Africa is conspicuously absent. The purpose of this study is to help fill the significant gap in our knowledge by presenting a descriptive evaluation of the evolution, rationale, nature, trend, legal aspects, and modus operandi of currency counterfeiting in African nation states.
