This third volume of a three-volume report summarizing the characteristics and criminal justice processing of New York State adult felony arrests disposed in 1980 provides supplementary statistical data in graphic and tabular form.
Abstract
Data are presented on both the outcomes of cases and their elapsed time for processing through the criminal justice system. Other tables present data pertaining to the statewide processing of cases involving various sex, race, age, crime type, and crime class groupings. Data on arrest charcteristics cover year of arrest, type of offense, class of offense, attempted offense, and the number of charges in an 'arrest event.' Data are broken down by New York City, metropolitan planning areas, and non-metropolitan areas. Offender statistics cover offender attributes, offending patterns, and single vs. multiple appearances in the study cohort. For the other volumes in the report, see NCJ 93255-56.
