This annotated bibliography contains over 130 references to books, government reports, and articles on crime and the elderly published between 1974 and 1982. Citations were drawn from holdings of the Morris Library of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
Abstract
The references are arranged in six sections. The first, The Elderly and Victimization, contains general works on elderly victimization, including materials on abused elderly parents. Sections two and three cover fear of crime and crimes against the elderly, including rape and robbery. References in the section titled, 'Age as an Attribute and Crime,' address crimes committed by older persons, aging prison inmates, and the effect of age on criminal behavior. The final two categories are Prevention of Crime and The Elderly and the Criminal Justice System. The bibliography provides the National Criminal Justice Reference Service number when appropriate to assist persons who use that service.
