The Administration Branch is responsible for the management of the general, supply, and accounting services of the Commission. The report on administration covers establishment and recruitment; general administration, financial, accounting, and supply matters; training; overseas visitors; the commissioner's visit in the United Kingdom; staff relations and welfare; the Community Research Unit; accommodation; the Advisory Committee on Corruption; the Complaints Committee; and discipline within the Commission. The report on the Operations Department, the investigative arm of the Commission, presents an explanation of the powers of the department, data on investigations, summaries of cases investigated, training, staff, and complaints against the Commission. The statutory duties of the Corruption Prevention Department are to secure or recommend changes in practices and procedures in government departments and public bodies to reduce corruption opportunities and to advise any person or organization seeking assistance in the elimination of corrupt practices. This department's 1982 activities are reviewed. The structure and activities are also discussed for the Community Relations Department, which is responsible for enhancing public awareness of the evils of corruption and enlisting the support of the community for the Commission's effort. The appendixes include charts of the organizations of the departments, data on personnel, and data on various Commission activities.
