The specific problems encountered by Turkish and Moroccan detainees are explored, with emphasis on problems of attitude, social standing and lifestyle, language, and religion. The Surinamese are probably the largest single ethnic minority in the Netherlands. Specific cultural problems related to their detention are examined, and the relations and activities of the Surinamese community in Holland are discussed. Figures, tables, and footnotes are supplied.
