This student guide provides chapter self-instructional aids to accompany a criminal justice overview textbook that focuses on legal issues, criminological theories, legislative policy, and police, court, and correctional practices.
Abstract
The chapter self-instructional aids include a listing of key terms and concepts, a fill-in review, a self-test, essay questions, and an answer section. The listing of key terms and concepts is intended to aid the student in identifying major terms and key points in reading the chapter. The fill-in review provides immediate feedback on knowledge of the material presented in the textbook chapter. The review requires that the student fill in the blank spaces provided with the correct word, phrase, or case without the use of the text for reference. Correct answers are provided in the answer section. The self-test portion of the materials contains true-false, multiple-choice, matching, and essay questions. Correct answers to a high percentage of the sample test questions indicate effective preparation for any examination on the test material. For the textbook and instructor's manual, see NCJ 94386 and 94388.
