Throughout its history, China has had a low crime rate. Reasons for this are examined.
Abstract
They include a strong family system, a homogeneous culture, consistent attitudes toward crime, judges with unhampered authority, and a set of severe penalties. Implications for the United States of America are explored. (Publisher abstract)
