Abstract
Papers in Volume One look at media coverage of terrorism, a terrorism overview, terrorism at work, the response, terrorism in other countries, and methodology of terrorists. Specific topics addressed include a psychological profile of the terrorist organization, terrorism in open societies, counter-terrorist policies and plans, and British anti-terrorism policies in Northern Ireland. Terrorist simulations, the role of intelligence in countermeasures, and the international terrorist network are also discussed. Volume Two begins with an examination of terrorism in Western democracies and contingency planning guidelines. It also contains the text of a 1983 Canadian bill to establish the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and enact laws regarding the enforcement of certain security and related offenses and a September 1983 overview of FEMA's Integrated Emergency Management System.
