Nine chapters address the topics of the fourth, fifth, and sixth amendments; pretrial proceedings; guilty pleas; juries; evidence; sentencing; and appeals and habeas corpus. A narrative summary of over 1,000 decisions is provided in these chapters. Included in the fourth amendment chapter are examinations of seizures and arrests, searches and seizures, electronic surveillance, and the exclusionary rule. Fifth amendment topics address the issues of self-incrimination, grand jury proceedings, and double jeopardy. Sixth amendment topics address the issues of the identification practices, right to counsel, speedy and public trials, confrontation, and compulsory process.
