This pamphlet contains 58 rules governing commercial arbitration, as amended and promulgated by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in February 1984.
Abstract
Areas covered by the rules include initiation of an arbitration provision in a contract, prehearing conference, qualification of arbitrator, disclosure and challenge procedures, time and place of hearing, representation by counsel, procedural and evidentiary matters, awards, and fees. Rules pertaining to expedited procedures cover notice by telephone, appointment of arbitrator, time and place of hearing, the hearing, and time of award. The booklet also contains an arbitration clause recommended by the AAA for insertion in all commercial contracts and the AAA administrative fee schedule.
