Social and demographic characteristics were compared for 115 clinically evaluated and legally adjudicated on the issue of sanity.
Abstract
Prior history of schizophrenia, previous treatment with psychoactive medication, absence of alcoholism, and completion of high school were all associated with individuals being clinically evaluated and legally adjudged insane. These and other findings were discussed with respect to the current research on insanity determinations. Tables and 18 references are supplied. (Author abstract modified)
