Abstract
This first statewide victimization report for Ohio is derived from the National Crime Survey for 1978. The information has been gleaned from the 1978 survey responses of 7,000 households representing 15,000 residents. In 1978, 9.2 personal larceny vicimizations occurred per 100 Ohio residents aged 12 and over. Furthermore, approximately 21.2 incidents per 100 households occurred involving either burglary, household larceny, or auto theft. Victim characteristics, reporting patterns, and the circumstances of the crime are recorded. Tables are provided. Appendixes include survey methodology, standard errors, and a glossary. A data users response form and a list of other Statistical Analysis Center publications are also supplied.
