Rules for compulsory minimum training standards for Virginia's full-time law enforcement officers (defined by Section 9-169(9) of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended) are presented.
Abstract
The rules cover compulsory minimum training standards (core and subcore curriculum and field training), time requirements for completion of training, attainment of compulsory minimum training standards, approved training schools, grading procedures, and administrative requirements. The total core curriculum takes 312 hours and the general subcore curriculum 3 hours. Field training includes 60 hours of local training with selected experienced law enforcement officers.
