This report analyzes the responses of 500 officers from 32 Ohio police departments serving populations between 25,000 and 100,000 to a survey conducted in 1981-1982.
Abstract
Characteristics of the patrol officers in these areas closely mirrored those of patrol officers across the State: for both groups, 95 percent of the officers were white, 97 percent were male, and 3 percent were female. Statistical data on educational levels, prior experience, and on administrative, patrol, and investigative tasks are also provided. Further, the performance frequency for seven selected physical activities is noted. Forty-seven tables are included.
