The article looks at ethnic group stereotyping by police recruits and police officers in New Zealand.
Abstract
The attitudes towards four of the ethnic groups in New Zealand (the Maori, the Samoan, the N.Z. Chinese and the English immigrants) were measured. The attitude scale was made up of 12 semantic differential dimensions. The results showed that there was no overall attitudinal difference between the recruits and the police officers. However, the data revealed a different pattern of attitude stereotyping for the four ethnic groups. (Publisher abstract)
