Evaluations of judicical competence and propriety of behavior have generally been negative in the literature on the courts.
Abstract
The present analysis provides further illustration of misbehavior on the part of judges. The data include observations of criminal trials, responses to a questionnaire by attorneys, and interviews with judges. Desirable qualities for judges are discussed together with a look at the distribution of power in a courtroom. (Author abstract)
