This text reports on efforts by the Eisenhower Foundation to help neighborhood organizations in inner city areas to combat crime and to lessen fear of crime. It contains a list and description of 10 community-based anticrime programs.
Abstract
Community-based anticrime programs in Baltimore, Boston, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Cleveland, Miami, Minneapolis, Newark, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., are described. Other Foundation programs dealing with senior citizens, the family, rape prevention, dispute resolution, victims, and youth employment are addressed. Finally, contributors to the Foundation in 1982-1983 are identified, and financial statements are provided. Thirty-two photographs are included; founding directors and officers of the organization are listed.
