This manual presents the variables and coding information for the dataset consisting of information on property stolen and recovered each month nationwide during 1980-82, as presented in the Uniform Crime Reports.
Abstract
Values were established for property stolen and recovered in each crime index category except aggravated assault. The investigating officers determined the value of the property stolen. The data file contains 1,130 variables for over 15,000 agencies. The data are available in two formats: card image and OSIRIS. Descriptions of the data collection procedures and the codebook format are supplied.
