This paper presents and explains three data tables showing the arrests and dispositions of cases of driving while intoxicated in Maryland between fiscal year 1978 and fiscal year 1982.
Abstract
Data show arrests by sex and race, types of dispositions, and the numbers and percentages of probation intakes of violators. The number of people apprehended, convicted, and penalized for driving while intoxicated has increased greatly in recent years in the State. Guilty verdicts have also increased. By the end of fiscal year 1982, probation intakes of these offenders were more than double the 1980 intake.
