The controversy over the use of polygraphs by the federal government is not new. There has been a long history of debate within the government over the propriety and wisdom of using the 'lie detector.'
Abstract

This article reviews the history of debate within the government over the use of the polygraph, and it describes legislation that must be enacted to control the proliferation of unwarranted and inaccurate polygraph use.
