The few empirical studies that exist on correctional halfway houses focus on recidivism and cost-effectiveness. There have been few attempts to identify the factors within a halfway house program that may influence its effectiveness.
Abstract
The present study examined the relationship between staff attributes and the value placed upon different programs. Through a correlational analysis, various personality and attitudinal characteristics of staff were found related to program ratings. Such data can be seen as helpful in staff selection and training and program development. (Author abstract)
