Hypnosis techniques are outlined and the essential voluntary cooperation of the subject is emphasized. All hypnotic induction techniques are very similar, relying upon the use of certain words or phrases that have suggestibility for inducing the desired state of hypnosis. The relationship between hypnosis and polygraph examination is explored, and voluntary nature of both procedures is emphasized. Courtroom use of hypnosis is examined and case reports are presented to illustrate the effectivity of hypnosis. Eleven recommended steps for the hypno-investigator are delineated.
