The Wisconsin Uniform Crime Reporting Program is described and a narrative overview of 1983 and 1984 crime and arrests in Wisconsin is presented. Tables offenses, and each separate offense. Ten-year trends in offenses, clearances, and arrest ratios are then provided, followed by data on police officers killed and assaulted. Index offenses by county and municipality for 1984 are summarized in tables covering (1) number of Index offenses and percent change, 1983-84; (2) offense rates per 100,000 population for Index offenses, 1984; (3) total clearance rates for index offenses, 1984; and (4) juvenile clearances as a percent of total clearances for Index offenses, 1984. Tables also present the number of adult and juvenile arrests by county and municipality for 1984, as well as data on selected adult and juvenile Part II arrests for 1984. Data on full-time law enforcement employees as of October 1, 1984, are broken down by agency, sworn officers, and civilians. A glossary is provided.
