This manual presents a brief project description and a codebook for the 1982 study of the nature and prevalence of learning deficiencies among adult inmates in Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
Abstract
For the project, 1,065 inmates were administered an academic achievement test and an individual intelligence test; other data were collected on variables pertaining to inmate demography, criminal history, educational background, family background, and disability. The data are in one file with a logical record length of 100 characters. A review of the project history precedes the codebook. The codebook describes each of the eight record types and presents variable code numbers, matching descriptions, variable location in the data set, numeric character, and the numbers for missing data and values.
