One method to enhance personalization of females, especially sexually victimized females, is through face-to-face encounters between offenders and persons who work with victims. A program is described which included a community rape counselor and police department rape investigators, all females, as members of ongoing psychotherapy groups with incarcerated sexual offenders, and the offenders' therapists reported gains from the meetings despite initial trepidation. A number of advantages are ascribed to employing people who work with victims as members of offender treatment teams. (Author abstract)
