After reviewing the findings and recommendations of a preliminary report on the feasibility and characteristics of an automated juvenile law archive, this final report presents system specifications and cost estimates for the implementation and operation of the archive.
Abstract
The preliminary study determined the feasibility of creating an automated archive of the juvenile codes of all jurisdictions by using computerized information storage and retrieval techniques and automated word processing to facilitate the legal research process and the dissemination of information. The preliminary report concluded that such a computerized information and retrieval system is feasible and recommended that it be designed and operated on a dedicated system with software tailored for its particular requirements. This final report specifies the functional and equipment requirements of such a system and estimates the costs of hardware, software, and personnel to implement and maintain the system. The appendixes present detailed system specifications and cost estimates.
