Law enforcement data cover the number and types of law enforcement agencies in Delaware and Delaware's national ranking among the 50 States for the various Index Crimes for years 1980 and 1983. Offenses reported to the police are tabulated by State and county and arrest, clearance, and victim-offender relationship data are also presented. Data on the work of the Public Defenders Office encompass the fiscal 1984 budget, cases assigned, number of clients, motions filed, arraignments, sentencings, appeals, capias, and polygraph tests. Court statistics address the number of courts and the number of judges in each type of court, expenditures, caseloads, and dispositions. Among the corrections data are expenditures and claims of the Violent Crimes Compensation Board, expenditures for adult and juvenile corrections, the adult corrections population, and probation and parole operations.
