Defensive Anti-Drunk Driving Program

NCJ Number
99461
Date Published
1985
Length

Annotation
This package of media materials attacks the drunk driving problem by providing the public (through television, radio, and newspaper) with information needed to recognize and report the intoxicated driver.
Abstract
The package includes an audiocassette and a half-inch videocassette describing and/or illustrating the 20 most frequently displayed driving-while-intoxicated (DWI) nighttime driving traits. There are twenty 30-second radio and television spots in both Spanish and English. Also in Spanish and English versions are 20 graphics for the press, DWI probability cards to be handed out to the public, and posters to be displayed in storefronts. The 20 most frequently displayed driving traits are listed. The materials are designed to enable requesting agencies to insert their own agency information (name, telephone, address), thus making the program locally sponsored and suitable for presentation in any jurisdiction.
