Can individuals who were under 18 years of age at the time of their offense receive a death penalty sentence in either Federal or state courts within the United States?
The minimum age at which the death penalty can be imposed in the Federal and State judicial systems was determined in the Supreme Court Case, Roper vs. Simmons, 543 U.S. 551 (2005).
