How many children have been abducted by family members?
Statistics on child abductions committed by family members are available in the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) report, Children Abducted by Family Members: National Estimates and Characteristics. Another OJJDP report on this subject, Crime of Family Abduction: A Child's and Parent's Perspective, was developed to provide the searching family, law enforcement, and mental health professionals with strategies to build a comprehensive, child-centered approach to recovery and healing.

See the Juvenile Justice: Missing Children and Crime: Kidnaping sections of the NCJRS Web site and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Web site for additional information.
