Based on an evaluation of user needs and existing systems in various countries, specifications are presented for a complex intruder detection control unit.
Abstract
The unit uses functions programmed in software or in custom integrated circuits. The general structure of the system involves a central processing unit and a man-machine interface, detection and alarm devices, and a variety of peripherals. Peripheral elements such as lock contacts, remote control panels, and access control devices must be distributed throughout the installation. Communications network interface is a basic feature of the system that permits coordination of intervention, reduced maintenance costs, and operation of large systems. The organization of the alarm units and locations allows free association to the alarm means (local and remote transmission). The central processing unit supports the free association of detectors to groups and control panels or to a dedicated control panel, and the entire control organization is governed by blocking periods. Finally, blocking periods are controlled by parallel running clocks set to user needs. 2 tables, 8 figures, and 1 reference.
