This article examines the role of social scientists as expert witnesses.
Abstract
Based on the personal experience of the authors in the courtroom, this study describes how the diverse agendas of defense and prosecution may obscure the search for truth. Expert testimony on the battered wife syndrome, as well as other examples, are used throughout the article. (Author abstract)
