NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE WAS FOUND BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE OF COMMUNITY TREATMENT CENTER RELEASEES AND THAT OF DIRECT RELEASEES.
Abstract
FOR ANALYTICAL PURPOSES THE RELEASEES WERE GROUPED INTO COHORTS, EACH COHORT HAVING BEEN RELEASED IN A DIFFERENT SIX-MONTH PERIOD. THE COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE OF EACH COHORT WAS THEN CHECKED BY SEARCHING THE CARD FILES AT THE D C JAIL, THE CENTRAL BOOKING FACILITY FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, TO DETERMINE HOW MANY OF THE YOUTHS HAD BEEN ARRESTED FOLLOWING RELEASE, AND THE DISPOSITION OF ANY CHARGES FILED AGAINST THEM.
