Annotation
This report provides 1986 arrest data for the 75 most populated counties in the United States and includes the following Part 1 and Part 2 offenses: rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny, auto theft, arson, forgery, fraud, embezzlement, weapon violations, drug abuse and liquor violations, gambling, vagrancy, and curfew and runaway violations. Crime data is broken down to adult and juvenile levels.
Abstract
The Federal Bureau of Investigation collected the data from reports submitted by agencies participating in the Uniform Crime Reporting system. If an agency submitted between six and eleven months of information, those data are weighted to provide twelve month equivalents. Data from State-wide jurisdictions are allocated to counties in proportion to their share of the State population. The document contains a variable description list, and an appendix provides State and county codes.
