Abstract
Average daily population figures for December 1989 are collapsed into male and female categories for both adult and juvenile inmates. In order to facilitate interpretation, these population figures are also categorized into felony, misdemeanor and "other" subcategories. Presented for December 1989 in both felony and misdemeanor subcategories are the number of inmates held for trial or sentencing and those detained or sentenced for violation of probation. The other subcategory documents the number of parole violators, State inmates, undocumented aliens, holdings for other jurisdictions, and individuals detained under the Baker Act pertaining to mental health and the Myers Act pertaining to alcoholism. Additionally, the average daily population figures, the incarceration rates for each county, the number of overcrowded county detention facilities, and the pretrial inmate levels for each facility are included in this report. 4 tables, 3 figures.
