The Tier 1 program provides an educational component to several categories of offenders: those who are believed to have a severe substance abuse problem but are in denial and are not ready for longer-term treatment; and/or those who will not have the opportunity to complete a longer-treatment program due to a very short sentence.
Abstract
This curriculum guide is designed to provide a logical progression of ideas. Following an orientation section, modules cover: signs and symptoms; the human body; values, beliefs, and attitudes; stress management; human relations; problem solving and decisionmaking; life management skills; and role plays. Each module identifies objectives and includes exercises. The guide contains a bibliography and a participant's guide.
