This annual report for the time period June 16, 1991 through June 15, 1992 identifies major developments and issues at the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility, presents statistics on inmate movement and characteristics and facility personnel, and describes business management activities, professional services and treatment available to the inmates, and community service projects.
Abstract
A total of 2,419 youths were admitted to Mountainview during fiscal year 1991-1992 and 1,250 were paroled. Inmate morale was good throughout the year, and the number of major incidents was minimal. All administrative policies and procedures and related aspects such as emergency plans are maintained as required for accreditation purposes. Services available to the detained youths include medical and dental care, psychological and psychiatric treatment, recreational activities, social services, and drug treatment. During the past year, 427 inmates were released to the Home Confinement program. Community service activities include assisting in general and major clean-up projects for county, municipal, state, and nonprofit agencies.
