Public Law 101-647, also known as the Crime Control Act of 1990, was enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in November 1990.
Abstract
The first title deals with international money laundering, covering reports on uses made of currency transaction reports, electronic scanning of currency notes, and clarification of definitions of monetary instruments. Title II, also known as the Victims of Child Abuse Act 1990, discusses the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases, court-appointed special advocate programs, child abuse training programs, Federal victims' rights and protections, child care worker background checks, grants for televised testimony, and the treatment of juvenile offenders who are victims of child abuse. The subsequent sections contain the Child Protection Restoration and Penalties Enhancement Act of 1990, outline offenses involving children, and discuss the protection of crime victims. Some of the other topics included in this omnibus legislation include juvenile justice, mandatory detention, correctional options incentives, anabolic steroids control, drug law enforcement, and shock incarceration.
