Abstract
Body armor includes basic ballistic vests and newer ballistic products such as stab-resistant armor and ballistic holsters. A relatively new company known as RBR Armor supplies body armor to the military and law enforcement agencies in the United States and Europe. The company claims to have the largest range of design expertise in the world and makes ballistic vests, bomb suits, hand armor, and helmets. National Armor, a California company, has the Protector Plus line and offers reasonably priced products. Protective Armor International, a Florida company, has introduced a new police officer measurement and order entry software package. Point Blank Body Armor in New York has its Genesis line of soft body armor; the company's vests are constructed of a new material that incorporates good ballistic properties, flexibility, and softness. In Texas, a company known as Q-Systems International has introduced a modular vest system targeted at smaller police departments. First Choice Armor and Equipment in Massachusetts has introduced soft ballistic body armor that is also stab- resistant. Based in Michigan, the Second Chance Body Armor Company plans to introduce a ballistic duty holster and duty belt.
