According to this testimony, 90 percent majority of so-called dangerous drugs, which account for 23 percent of the domestic illicit drug market, are manufactured in the U.S. Of these, at least two-thirds, including barbiturates, amphetamines, and methamphetamines, are manufactured legally and represent overprescription or specific, purposeful criminal diversion.
