Abstract
The rules are designed to prevent the abduction and sexual victimization of children. The key to child safety is communication. A child's best protection is the ability to think and respond to potentially dangerous situations. The rules outlined here include: checking with parent or adult in charge before going anywhere; checking for permission before entering any car or leaving with anyone, even someone known; using the buddy system; saying no if someone touches in a frightening or uncomfortable way; listening to one's feelings and talking to grownups about problems and concerns. The rules are translated into Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Armenian, Bulgarian, Cambodian, Czech, Farsi, Haitian Creole, Hmong, Hungarian, Lao, Pashto, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Somali, Spanish, Tigrinya, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
