This report presents background information and the goals and objectives for fiscal years 1994-98 for Florida's plan for standards and training of the criminal justice personnel employed by the more than 500 agencies in the State.
Abstract
The plan covers the agencies involved in recruiting, selecting, training, retraining, managing, planning, and monitoring criminal justice personnel. During the planning process, criminal justice practitioners identified several major issues important to the plan. These included diversity awareness; recruitment, selection, and retention; community- oriented trends; training concerns; the increase in crime and social decay; and ethics. The plan includes goals and objectives in the following areas: recruitment, selection, training/education, standards, retention, management, planning, and public relations. Detailed goals and objectives are presented for 1993 and 1994. Table, discussion of funding, 5 references, and list of staff contacts
