Six Florida court video transmission projects funded under the Anti-Drug Abuse Act were evaluated with respect to the program design, the project administration, consumer satisfaction, outcomes, and cost-efficiency.
Abstract
The programs were intended to reduce the amount and costs of prisoner transport and to increase public safety. Evaluation information came from national and State literature on the video transmission of court proceedings, from surveys and interviews of criminal justice personnel, from observations of the video systems in operation, and from program and court records. The analysis focused on several specific questions within each subject area. Issues and recommendations were identified for each of the projects. The six projects were located in Bay County, Broward County, Escambia County, Hernando County, Jackson County, and Leon County. Detailed description of the evaluation methodology, copies of evaluation reports for each jurisdiction, figures, tables, and footnotes
