This report presents statistical data documenting the activities of Nebraska's nine multijurisdictional drug task forces in 1989 and 1990.
Abstract
The nine task forces have all been established since 1987. Eight task forces received Federal funding under the Anti-Drug Abuse Act. Seven task forces operate in predominantly rural areas, while two operate in the metropolitan Omaha and Lincoln/Lancaster County areas. In mid-1991, additional counties have joined the task forces. The statistics were collected as a condition of each Federal grant. The statistics document the activity within each project's geographical area. The task forces made 2,051 arrests for drug law offenses in 1989 and 3,142 arrests in 1990. The cases resulted in 564 convictions in 1989 and 814 convictions in 1990. In 1990, the programs resulted in a total of 378 fines, 179 probation orders, 202 prison sentences, 168 jail sentences, 39 jail-probation combinations, and 22 community service orders. Other data cover arrests with weapons, drug seizures, and data for each jurisdiction. Tables, figures, and maps
