The New Mexico Youth Authority's Client Tracking Referral System (CTRS) is a decentralized system that was being installed in 30 juvenile probation and parole offices statewide as of 1992.
Abstract
Data are compiled in the CTRS to profile juveniles who receive services, to facilitate caseload and program monitoring, to respond to requests for additional staff and funding, and to provide statistics to various organizations and agencies. Forms used by the CTRS are basically tally sheets of actions taken on juveniles referred to the New Mexico Youth Authority. Probation and parole officers are given information printouts on a regular basis. The CTRS manual includes nine sections covering definitions and forms, codes, computer instructions, screens, report interpretation, paperflow procedures, common questions, newsletters, and other memos.
