Chapters on adolescence and dating explain the basic developmental tasks of adolescence, the nature of intimacy and love, and cultural variations in dating and mating. A section on violence in dating relationships discusses its incidence, unique characteristics, issues related specifically to adolescence, social context, types, causes, impacts, prevention, and intervention. Dating violence in which males are victims and gang rape are also discussed.
