This July 1994-June 1995 annual report presents a brief overview of Georgia's Judicial Branch, describes the work of courts and judicial agencies in the State, and examines judicial personnel changes.
Abstract
Accomplishments of the Judicial Branch are noted, particularly with respect to dealing with heavy court caseloads and the juvenile court system. Judicial initiatives are identified that focus on child placement proceedings, the Family Courts Commission, the Commission on Racial and Ethnic Bias, the Committee on Substance Abuse and the Courts, the Georgia Courts Automation Commission, and the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. Highlights of court operations during the 1994-1995 fiscal year are reviewed. Data on State appropriations for the Judicial Branch and on court caseloads are tabulated. The work of Georgia courts is described, including the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, superior courts, juvenile courts, probate courts, magistrate courts, and other courts. Activities of judicial agencies are also detailed, and judicial personnel changes during the year are listed. Tables and figures
