This report presents probation-related data for 1994 for England and Wales.
Abstract
Most of the tables present data for 1984-1994. Data on criminal reports address the number of reports by type of court and type of inquiry, as well as reports of SIR Monitoring exercises. Tables with data on court orders address commencement by type of supervision; persons supervised by type of supervision; and court orders by sex and age, offense, offense and sex, type of court, by area, by additional requirements, and length. Data on reconvictions pertain to those given probation in 1992. Reconvictions are shown by sex and age, by sentence type, original offense, length of order, reason for termination, and by average time taken to terminate. Data on pre-supervision and post-supervision release are shown by sex and supervision type and by prerelease and postrelease supervision type. Statistics pertinent to family court supervision encompass number of reports by type of inquiry, mediation cases by type of court and case type, number of persons supervised by supervision type, and number of commencements by supervision type.
