Abstract
The World Wide Web represents a major resource for scholars, intelligence analysts, law enforcement practitioners, and policymakers who are interested in both domestic and transnational forms of organized crime. The World Wide Web is well-suited to research, storage, compilation, and communication of information on organized crime. The 23 web sites devoted to organized crime and related activities are categorized as follows: criminal organizations, the Office of International Criminal Justice, gangsters, the Matthew B. Ridgway Center for Security Studies, transnational organized crime (Asia, Italy, and Russia), the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition, the Institute for Intergovernmental Research, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the United Nations Criminal Justice Information Network, and the United Nations International Drug Control Program.
